Building a Maths Language and Thinking Framework across all levels at Warranwood

Staff and students have been working tirelessly over the first 8 weeks of term to research and develop our Annual Implementation Plan-AIP goal of building a consistent best practice approach to learning and teaching in Maths. From student surveys, observations, research and data and professional learning sessions we have formulated an approach that we can use across our school at all levels that will symbolise and support positive strategies and emotions towards the challenges of solving numeracy problems.

In the coming weeks all classrooms will commence the use of the Learning Pit as a framework for approaching and overcoming numeracy problems. Remember to ask your children about the Learning Pit. We will havmore to share in the coming weeks and a model of the framework model that you can also implement at home.
