Annual Implementation Plan Work in 2023

Our key work this year!

This year our school will be learning and working on the redefining of our Professional Learning Community-PLC approaches for planning and assessment in learning and building upon consistency of practice throughout the school to further develop student outcomes across learning and wellbeing areas.

As a learning community staff and students are always learning, reflecting and evaluating together to improve. The PLC approach framework supports teachers’ data literacy understandings and analysis and supports collaboration and clear focus to break down learning sequences for success. This can be applied to different learning areas of the curriculum and supports staff to Evaluate and Diagnose, Prioritise and Set Goals, Develop and Plan then Implement and Monitor before restarting the cycle again to take the next step as learning is continuous and dynamic.

As a school we are working on our Spelling and Decoding teaching practice and framework with the implementation of SMART SPELLING to compliment and sequence our THRASS approach to address the elements identified to improve student outcomes in this area. This work will be developed over the year with Professional Learning via Curriculum Days, Professional Learning sessions, classroom observations and coaching and also the PLC cycle to redefine Warranwood Spelling classroom practices and sequences to meet the differentiated learning needs of students.

We also have numerous important ongoing wellbeing initiatives to drive our community of wellbeing with Respectful Relationships, Friendology and School Wide Positive Behaviours projects continuing to build upon our student community connection and relationships.

At the core of all our work will be the focus and development of student agency in learning and community to drive engagement and self-regulation practices and opportunities.
