Respectful Relationships (RRRR)

At Warranwood Primary School, we implement the Respectful Relationships (RRRR) program, a Victorian Government initiative designed to support schools in building positive school cultures and promoting respectful, inclusive communities.

RRRR explicitly teaches students the skills and understandings needed to develop healthy relationships, demonstrate respect and contribute positively to their community.

What is RRRR?

Respectful Relationships is a curriculum-aligned program that focuses on:

  • Building self-awareness and self-regulation

  • Developing emotional literacy

  • Understanding and managing relationships

  • Promoting equality and inclusion

  • Preventing bullying and disrespectful behaviours

Through structured lessons and everyday practice, students learn how their behaviours and choices impact others.

Why We Use RRRR at Warranwood

At Warranwood Primary School, our core values of Respect, Understanding and Integrity (RUIn) align strongly with the principles of Respectful Relationships.

We use RRRR to:

  • Strengthen positive peer relationships

  • Build empathy and emotional understanding

  • Support student wellbeing and resilience

  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment

  • Empower students to resolve conflict respectfully

  • Promote fairness and equality

RRRR supports students in developing the social and emotional skills needed not only for school success, but for life beyond the classroom.

How It Looks in Our School

Respectful Relationships is embedded through:

  • Explicit weekly lessons

  • Classroom discussions and role-play

  • Real-life problem-solving

  • Reflection on behaviour and choices

  • Reinforcement of RUIn values across all learning areas

By embedding Respectful Relationships across our school, we are committed to creating a community where every child feels safe, valued and supported.
